Alexandra Bernadotte

Founder & CEO, Beyond 12

Alexandra (Alex) Bernadotte is the founder and CEO of Beyond 12, a high-tech, high-touch nonprofit that integrates personalized coaching with technology to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who graduate from college and translate their degrees into meaningful employment and choice-filled lives. She has more than 18 years of executive management and strategic development experience in the nonprofit and private sectors. Prior to launching Beyond 12, Alex was an entrepreneur in residence at NewSchools Venture Fund, where she developed the business plan for the organization. Her career includes leadership roles at The Princeton Review, Foundation for a College Education, and the World Health Organization. Alex holds degrees from Dartmouth and Stanford and has received several prestigious honors, including an Ashoka Fellowship and the NewSchools Venture Fund Entrepreneur of the Year award. Alex currently serves on the board of directors of Cengage Group, the board of advisors of the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Presidential Commission for Financial Aid at Dartmouth College.

Tiffany Green

Founder & CEO, Uprooted Academy

Tiffany Green is a licensed psychotherapist and founder of Uprooted Academy™, an ed-tech non-profit that uses neuroscience and mental health research to provide a psychologically safe process for students applying to college. Uprooted Academy’s AI-powered advising builds the capacity of schools and organizations to ensure students are able to attend the college of their dreams. She is a graduate of UCONN and Howard University. Her doctoral research focuses on the impact of an AI tool to mitigate the stress that comes with applying to college. She has been featured in Forbes for her tech innovation. Tiffany currently lives in Los Angeles and has traveled to over 80 countries. She is a true adventurer who enjoys cycling, surfing, snowboarding, museums, and matcha.

Dr. Eve Shapiro

Chief Knowledge Officer, Beyond 12

Dr. Eve Shapiro is Beyond 12’s chief knowledge officer, overseeing the organization’s data and insights strategy, research foundation, and analytics. Drawing on almost 20 years of experience in higher education and education justice nonprofits, Eve helps ensure that Beyond 12’s mission to support first-generation students through college is guided by a robust body of empirical and experiential knowledge and that the organization shares that knowledge with the field. She is passionate about using the best data, research, and programmatic practices to address structural inequalities and close the opportunity and outcomes gaps in higher education. Before Beyond 12, Eve taught at the University of Connecticut and Westfield State University. She received her B.A. from Indiana University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a focus on social inequalities, movement building, and social change.

Stefan Nilsson

Interim Chief Technology Officer, Beyond 12

Stefan is a technology leader with deep expertise in engineering, digital innovation, and customer success. As Vice President at Formation.ai, he deployed machine learning solutions for global brands focused on customer retention strategies. Before this role, as VP of Engineering at OneLogin, he led product engineering across SaaS and mobile platforms, scaling teams and transforming operations. He founded the Products & Innovation Practice at Slalom, a professional services and business consulting firm, delivering cutting-edge digital solutions across industries and building Slalom San Francisco’s first technology practice. With a strong track record in engineering leadership, product development, and customer-focused innovation, Stefan brings invaluable experience in scaling and deploying technology solutions to Beyond 12.
