Samson Wambuzi is a former physics teacher with a Bachelor of Science from Makerere University, a 2019 Obama Africa Leader, a 2021 Collaborative Learning Initiative Fellow with the Issroff Family Foundation, and a 2023 Obama Scholar. He was selected as an MIT Solver in 2020 alongside Yiya cofounder Erin Fitzgerald, and was interviewed by CNN International for an Inside Africa episode on edtech. Samson’s childhood experience shaped Yiya’s mission, and he has a genius talent for educational design and a deep passion to leverage the power of experiential learning to end cycles of poverty endemic in Uganda.
