Lindsey was enrolled for a Ph.D. in School Psychology when she founded the company based on her dissertation research in game-based learning. She has led the company in development of their educational gaming design, curricular approach, and strategic partnerships. They have reached over 70,000 learners so far and been awarded by the National Science Foundation, MIT Solve, and the Department of Education.

She was recently awarded her PhD in Urban Education, and focuses on equity and educating historically underserved students.
