He has led teams and advised institutions across the public and private sectors, with over five years at McKinsey & Company—where he was an Associate Partner and Leader of the Education Practice for Latin America—and earlier roles at the Colombian Ministry of Education and Dejusticia. He is also a fellow at Transcend Network, a global community of founders building the future of learning. His work has consistently focused on education, strategy, and social impact, with additional research experience in Colombia, South Africa, and the U.S.

Fernando Díaz del Castillo

Chief Learning Officer

He is an educator with a lifelong passion for teaching and learning. Since 1998, he has worked in various roles within the education sector, including school leader, classroom teacher, consultant, and policy-maker, with a strong focus on innovation, technology integration, and digital transformation. In 2022, he joined Mentu as a co-founder and Chief Learning Officer (now Chief Nerd). He leads the team responsible for the educational, pedagogical, and implementation design of the product and program, overseeing curriculum and content development, technology integration, teacher capacity-building, and teacher support. He is still an 11th grade philosophy teacher.
