Play My Math (PMM) is an educational game aiming to support the sense-making of abstract mathematical concepts through music. In PMM, students learn to use arithmetic and introductory algebra involving integer numbers and fractions to write, read, and make music without musical notation. From the students’ perspective, the game is about solving mathematical puzzles to keep composing and performing music.

He has co-designed and experimented with technology, lessons, methodologies, and workshops aiming to synthesize music and mathematics in the same learning space for many years.

Doris has solid experience using qualitative and quantitative methods to find insights on supporting practices better to achieve meaningful use of digital technology. Moreover, she researches how to holistically support learners’ digital competence while understanding the psychological, societal, and cultural constructs that impact the learning experience.
