Nishant Baghel is the Managing Director of Pratham’s Shah PraDigi Innovation Centre and a Visiting Scientist at the MIT Media Lab. He leads Pratham International’s technology development efforts, focusing on scalable and inclusive ed-tech solutions for underserved communities. Under his leadership, initiatives like the AI-powered ‘BaalSakhi’ chatbot and speech-based reading assessments have reached over 500,000 children across India. He has guided the creation of open datasets and tools in regional languages, supporting large-scale learning assessments. Beyond technical innovation, Nishant provides strategic direction in forging partnerships and adapting Pratham’s educational models to global contexts, especially across the Global South. His work has helped position Pratham as a key player in international development, with recognition from the World Economic Forum as India’s only ‘School of Future’. He also contributes to academic research on the intersection of AI, education, and social impact. Through his efforts, Baghel continues to drive technological innovation for equitable learning worldwide.

Gillprit is an education technology practitioner focused on building AI-powered learning solutions for underserved communities across the Global South. Her work lies at the intersection of tech development, research design, and partnerships, with a strong emphasis on equity and offline access. She is currently leading the development of FLN, Youth Training, and digitization tools that are being developed for learners across Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Gillprit collaborates closely with global and local partners to ensure solutions are context-relevant, scalable, and inclusive. Her approach integrates human-centred design with emerging technologies to drive learning outcomes where they are needed most.

CEO, Fundación Aprender a Quererte (FAAQ)

Juan Pablo is the Executive Director of Fundación Aprender a Quererte, where he works to ensure that the organization’s mission—creating high-quality educational opportunities that catalyze social mobility—translates into impactful action. He leads strategic planning and decision-making processes to guarantee that each initiative delivers real, meaningful, and sustainable change in the communities they serve. Deeply committed to both vision and execution, Juan Pablo is also actively involved in the design and evaluation of the Foundation’s programs, ensuring that every decision is grounded in evidence and oriented toward lasting results. He spearheaded the initial conversations with Pratham International, leading to a successful international partnership that enabled the implementation of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) in Colombia. Although he is a lawyer by profession, Juan Pablo has devoted his career to education, firmly believing it is one of the most powerful tools to build a more just and equitable society.
