Richard Tibbles is the co-founder and Product Lead at Learning Equality, dedicated to advancing the Kolibri Ecosystem to serve a diverse global community of learners, educators, and organizations. Richard holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, where his research focused on how mathematics learning is forgotten over time, and how to retain it. His extensive experience as a Secondary Science Teacher and educational consultant fuels his passion for leveraging technology in student-centered learning environments.

His experience includes the creation of LinEx, one of the first Linux-based educational distributions, and participating in educational technology initiatives in Extremadura, Spain. José combines his technical expertise with a deep understanding of educational needs to enhance Learning Equality’s offerings. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in nature and dreams of someday trading his laptop for life on an automated farm.
