Learning Equality is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to addressing the educational needs of communities without reliable internet access since 2013. In a world where a third of the population remains offline, it focuses on providing offline-first, high-quality digital learning tools that work in environments with limited connectivity. Our flagship platform, Kolibri, is an open-source suite that supports personalized, student-centered learning in low-resource settings, offering a flexible and scalable solution for educators and learners. The dataset Learning Equality is developing will capture real-world interactions from Kolibri users—queries, resource views, and event streams—providing valuable insights for developing AI tools that improve offline content discovery. The dataset will support AI-driven solutions that cater to the needs of disconnected communities, enabling more effective educational tools, even in environments with limited or no internet access. Through this work, we continue to empower learners and educators, ensuring they have the tools and support necessary for success in their educational journey.
