The AI-Enabled ORF Tool is an end-to-end digital reading assessment and remediation platform designed to accelerate foundational literacy in primary-grade students (Grades 1–5), particularly in low-resource educational ecosystems. Using automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language processing (NLP), the tool conducts real-time oral reading assessments, identifies granular learning gaps, and recommends targeted interventions—empowering teachers with actionable insights. The platform comprises three integrated components:

Assessment Automation Module: Powered by advanced ASR models trained on child speech in Indian languages, this module enables automated, real-time evaluation of oral reading fluency.
Reading Cohorts Module: This AI-based module segments students into four evidence-based fluency stages—Alphabetic, Sub-lexical, Lexical, and Fluent—based on diagnostic parameters.
Remediation Recommendation Module: Utilizing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), this module generates cohort-specific remediation content.
