Education Modified is proposing a new application of natural language processing and machine learning techniques to narrative texts in the Individualized Education Program (IEP). The new ML model would standardize and analyze student instructional accommodations in order to provide teachers with a concise and actionable list of strategies as well as insight as to their effectiveness with specific disability classifications. Over time, this new tool will support learning engineering by creating a large and authentic body of data that will enable the education and research community to learn how students with disabilities learn best.
